Electric forklift battery inspection before use

Apr 21,2020

The battery is a very critical part of the electric forklift, and the service life and performance of the battery depend on the charging, maintenance and repair status of the driver and the battery.

1. Check the electric forklift battery before use

Before use, the battery can only be checked for positive and negative, working voltage, ratio, liquid level, and electrode connection wires, and the dust and dirt on the surface should be removed; it can be used only after the inspection is correct.

2. Common problems in daily use

(1) During the whole process of charging the battery, the following situations should be avoided:

Insufficient charging of the battery: insufficient charging for a long time will seriously endanger the service life of the battery;

Note: When the battery is not fully charged, it does not need to work; please let the bottle fully charged before working.

b. Overcharge and discharge: After overcharge and discharge, the positive and negative phases of the lead sulfate layer are switched, and the density is high. The active material cannot be repaired when the battery is charged. Overcharge and discharge are the key causes of reduced battery life and common failures.

Warning: During the entire driving process of the electric vehicle, if the working voltage indicator displays bright red information or the instrument needle falls into the bright red area, stop immediately and charge immediately.

c. Over-battery charging: over-battery charging will cause a variety of electrolyte solutions in the electrolyte water of lithium batteries, the temperature will rise, and the dissolved steam will rise from the positive and negative three stages, so that the rechargeable battery will have positive three-stage and negative three-stage active materials. Loose structure, reducing battery life;

Note: When the charging temperature of the battery exceeds 50 degrees Celsius, the charging of the battery should be suspended. When the temperature drops below 40 degrees Celsius, the battery should be charged again.

(2) Radon gas is precipitated during the entire use of the rechargeable battery, especially during charging and for a period of time after the end of charging. Therefore, the battery charging room should be naturally ventilated immediately, and the composition of hydrogen gas should be strictly controlled to ensure safety.

Warning: When working with electric vehicles, natural ventilation must be maintained at the battery charging site, and smoke and fire are strictly prohibited.
